Radio Flyer – An American Icon Going Stronger

Ask a lot of people what they think should get the title as America’s National Toy and most of them would tell you that it’s the Radio Flyer Red Wagons.  It’s easily the most recognizable toy in history with appearances in cartoons and movies.  In fact, a scene with kids won’t be complete with this toy.  It’s because they know that most kids have played with them at least once in their lives.

How many times have you seen a kid pulling a wagon with the words, Radio Flyer, printed all over it?  It’s a common scene in neighborhoods all over America.  It’s like their number one mode of transportation.  You’ll see kids pulling other kids, books, sand, dogs and anything that will fit in the red wagon.  Yes, it has to be and it always will be red.  That’s part of the icon.

Kids love to explore and you have to give them something that can help them do that.  A lot of kids love to explore rocks.  This is where Radio Flyer Red Wagons come in.  They can explore the neighborhood looking for rocks and they can use the wagon to bring it home.  It has enough space so he can bring a lot of them and transporting them is easy with the four big wheels and handle.

Kids also love pretend play.  As a parent, you have to encourage it because it develops creativity and imagination.  Now, kids can do pretend play inside the house.  But it’s good to encourage them to play outside because that will give them a chance to explore and exercise in the process.  They can use a Radio Flyer Red Wagon for a lot of things.  They can pretend that it’s a car, train, truck or whatever they can come up with.
